Nothing much needs to be done for this as well. Take bitter gourd and slice the same. Take a slice and place it on the chalazion cyst and let it be there for about 15 minutes. Apart from this way, you can make bitter gourd tea and consume the same every morning in empty stomach.


Milk is an ingredient, which can be found in almost all homes readily. It has proved to be great for dealing with the problem of chalazion in children. The effect of milk is extremely soothing and hence it is effective in reducing the pain and inflammation caused by chalazion cysts in children.

Cold milk is good for washing the eyes. For quicker results, evaporated milk can be used. You can also take warm milk and dip a slice of bread in the same. Boil an egg and then separate the egg white from the yolk. Put the hot egg white on a soft cloth. This cloth can be placed directly on the affected eye area. Let it be there for about 15-20 minutes. This should be done thrice a day for some days. A full hardboiled egg can also be placed around the affected area for quick results.

Garlic juice

For garlic juice, you just need to crush few garlic cloves and get the juice from there. Apply the juice carefully to the affected areas. Just ensure that the juice does not get into the eyes by any means as it will cause irritation. Let the juice dry on the eyelids and then wash off with tepid water.

Aloe Vera

Apply warm compress on the eyelids for about 5 minutes. Take few drops of castor oil on a cotton swab and apply the same on the affected eyelids. Keep on doing this twice daily for about 2 weeks. You can also make a thick paste by mixing ½ teaspoon turmeric powder with a small amount of castor oil. Wash the affected area with warm water to clean. Then apply the paste. Let it be there for 15 minutes before washing off with warm water. Do this thrice daily for best results.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is used extensively in different kinds of home remedies and is useful for treating chalazion as well. The main reason is that apple cider vinegar has excellent anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities and properties. Along with getting rid of the pain and inflammation caused due to chalazion, this natural ingredient helps in combating infection as well.


Take a cup of boiling water and add 2 teaspoons of organic raw apple cider vinegar in the same. Mix well. Now take cotton balls and soak them in the solution. Apply the cotton ball on the chalazion and keep for about a minute. Continue doing this thrice a day for a few days. Alternatively, you can mix 1 tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar to one cup of lukewarm water and drink the same. This should be done 2 times in a day.

Tea bad made from chamomile can be easily used for treating the problem of chalazion in children as well as adults.

There are two ways in which chamomile tea bags can be used in the treatment of chalazion. In the first method, the chamomile tea bag should be chilled for a few minutes and then it should be placed on the affected eye. The bag should be kept on the eye for approximately 5-10 minutes. There is another way of using chamomile tea. Take the herbal tea in a cup and dip cotton balls or pads in the same. Squeeze out the pads and apply on closed eyes.

Coriander seeds

Take about 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds and add them to a cup containing boiling water. Take the water off the heat and let it cool down to normal temperature. Coconut oil
