Kids usually find a smoothie really appealing because this is a finely blended liquid made of a selection of fruits, vegetables and milk or yogurt. It could also be just veggies or just fruits too and without milk and yogurt. Kids love them for their creamy texture and want to drink a taller glass as they grow older.

Smoothies for toddlers

1. Vegetable Smoothie

¾ cup frozen green beans

1 cup frozen strawberries

3-4 large bunches of fresh kales

6-8 baby carrots

1 tub yogurt

1 ripe banana

Ingredients:

3 baby carrots

1 banana

1 peach

4 strawberries

1 tablespoon honey

1 cup milk

Ingredients:

6 raspberries, fresh or frozen

½ banana

⅓ cup whole milk

2 cups chopped kale

1 banana

1 teaspoon flax seeds

½ cup unsweetened soy milk

1 teaspoon maple syrup 

Method: Grind flax seeds in a blender and add chopped kale, bananas, maple syrup and soy milk to the blender. Blend for two minutes and serve fresh.

Method: Peel and slice the banana and put it with the grapes, chopped spinach, yogurt and apple in a blender and blend for a couple of minutes till it turns soft and creamy. Serve immediately.

Cucumber is rich in Vitamins A, B6, C, E and K, of which Vitamin K helps children in bone development and blood coagulation. It also improves their immunity levels, prevents them from being dehydrated and prevents constipation. It also contains silica, which helps with the growth of healthy hair and nails.

1 melon

1 cucumber, peeled and diced

1 ripe banana, large
