Beet and Carrot Soup Homemade Baby Food Recipe

This colorful soup is a great weaning food for your infant as it is easy to digest and full of essential vitamins and minerals. Carrot is a natural laxative and provides remedy for diarrhea. Beet on the other hand, helps in decreasing the risk of anemia, promotes blood circulation in the brain and protects liver.

This flavorsome, colorful and nutritious soup is ideal for your infant’s growth. Try making one in your kitchen and give your child a healthy start.

Homemade Beet and Carrot Soup Recipe for Baby

Appropriate age: After 8 months

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 12 minutes -15 minutes

Ingredients

¼ cup beetroot, peeled and finely chopped.

½ cup carrot, peeled and chopped.

Step 1: Combine the beet and carrot in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Step 2: Cool and puree into a smooth soup.

Step 3: Strain the soup and re-heat to lukewarm before serving.

P.S: Introducing beets first may not be a good idea because beets contain an earthy flavor. Your child might not like this flavor. Hence, start with vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, etc and then introduce beets.
