This Wholesome porridge made of oats, apples and milk can be served as a dessert or breakfast after your baby is 6 months. Oats are very light compared to rice, it can digest easily and it supplies good amount of energy to the baby. Apart from these, oats have the least allergic reactions in babies compared to other cereal and staples.

Age: 6months – 8 months

Homemade Infant Food – Apple Porridge

Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

 Ingredients:

3 tablespoons quick cooking rolled oats

½ cup milk

1 tablespoon jaggery (gur), grated ( optional)

¼ apple, peeled and finally chopped

1 teaspoon butter

 Method:

Step 1: Heat the butter in a pressure cooker and sauté the oats for 2 minutes

Step 2: Add the milk and ½ cup of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.

Step 3: Add the jaggery and apple pieces while the porridge is hot and mix well, using a whisk. Serve lukewarm.
