Another reason is, the stimulation caused by the pineapple in the stomach that leads to uterine contractions and further induces labor. But for this you have to make sure that you eat fresh pineapples and that too in moderate amounts. You should not eat the left out or the ones that have been left open for a long time because then, the protein apparently shrinks.

But this does not mean that eating one pineapple a day will help you bring on the labor. There are very less bromelain enzyme in a single pineapple. Thereby, you should eat at least seven pineapples and along with the inner core because most of the enzymes are found in that.

Are there no risks of eating Pineapple during pregnancy?

Everything has its pros and cons and so does a pineapple, when eaten in large amounts. Remember, no fruit will cause any harm to you or your baby till the time it is eaten in moderate amounts. But when anything is consumed excessively, then it may show some adverse effects as well.

  • The acids contained in the pineapple can lead to heartburn or reflux, if consumed in high amounts. This further leads to diarrhea.
  • In case, you notice any of the allergic symptoms like skin reactions, asthma, swelling at the mouth or congestion, it is better to call your doctor. These symptoms usually show up to those who have never eaten a pineapple before or if you are allergic to pollen.
  • There have been reports of women having higher chances of miscarriage when they eat unripe pineapples.
  • The high amount of sugars in the pineapple can alleviate the blood sugar levels which can prove to be harmful to the ones who suffering from gestational diabetes. This can also prove to be detrimental to your baby.

The only way to avoid these risks is to consume the food in moderate amounts. It is always better to consult your doctor regarding the same.

Natural ways to induce labor

This is highly recommended by a number of people. As such there is no harm in eating an eggplant, so you may give it a try if you want.

Yoga

Little exercising and yoga is of no harm. This will only make your body stronger for the labor and will keep you going. So, you must try going out for a long walk at least once a day.

Considering pineapple, it is always good to eat fruits or anything nutritious in moderation but too much of anything will prove to be harmful.
