Thyme Essential Oil

Thyme essential oil can help your child to stop snoring. Topical use of the oil can actually help your child to get relief from the daily problem of snoring. However, do not use the oil directly on your child. Dilute the oil with some carrier oil like coconut oil or lavender oil.

Then you can rub the mixture on your child’s chest and feet. Particularly you should massage the underside of the big toes of his/her feet.  Massage the mixture for a long time period to make your child’s body warm enough. This will help in getting rid of the mucus in his/her body and will allow your little one to have a good night sleep.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is effective oil, which can curb your child’s snoring habit. However, unlike the thyme essential oil, this oil is not for its topical usage. You should dab a bit of oil on a cotton ball and make your child sniff it before going to bed.

Alternatively you can also mix one drop of the tea tree oil in warm butter and put a drop in your child’s little Make sure that the mixture is dilute enough not to give any burning sensation to your child. If necessary dilute them further before pouring it in your child’s nose.

You can also encourage your child to gurgle, every night, before going to bed, with mixture of water with sea salt and tea tree oil. This will help him/her to clear any kind of mucus in the system. The mucus in the system causes obstacles in the respiratory tract of your child, which in turn triggers the snoring.

Tea tree essential oil can also be mixed with carrier oil and rubbed on your child’s shoulder, chest and feet. The topical use of the oil keeps your warm and healthy.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender oil is known for its soothing ability. It can cure your child’s snoring habits, along with other sleep disorders. Lavender oil can clear the respiratory tract of your child in a much effective manner.

Instead of direct topical use of lavender oil, you can diffuse lavender oil in your child’s bedroom and that will do well enough to stop your child from snoring during night, along with clearing his/her respiratory tract.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint oil is known for its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory property and so it is good for clearing off your child’s respiratory passage. If your child is suffering from cough or asthma related problems then also peppermint oil can be useful.

However, remember that peppermint oil is very strong so, before applying it your child, make sure that it is properly diluted. You can add one drop of the oil to a glass of water and make your child gurgle with that, before hitting the sack, at night.

If your child is too young to gurgle, then you can always rub a bit of peppermint on his/her chest and if possible below the nostrils. However, make sure peppermint oil should not be directly applied on your child’s tender skin and nostril. Because of its strong smell it might trigger more complications.

If you think that snoring in your child is caused due to the dry weather, you can always humidify the room with peppermint oil. This will help your child to breathe in the moist air and clear his/her respiratory system.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

This analgesic and antispasmodic properties of eucalyptus is very helpful for your child to cure any kind of breathing problems including bronchitis, asthma, and even snoring.

You can make your little one to inhale on drop of eucalyptus oil, every day before hitting the sack and it can solve the snoring problem for your child.

In case, you have detected that snoring is caused by some kind of congestion in your child’s respiratory system then you can fill a sink with hot water and add couple of drops of eucalyptus oil. Then make your child inhale the steam in order to clear his/her blockage.

Marjoram Essential Oil

You can dab the mixture in a cotton ball and make your child inhale the fragrance. This will definitely help your child to clear any sort of blockage, causing the snoring.

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium oil spray can be very effective in curing snoring problems in children. However, this spray should not be directly used on your son but rather you should spray the room with the oil. The diffusion of the oil will help your baby to have a peaceful night.

Also you can dilute the oil and rub it on the chest, back of the neck and toes of your child to help him/her keep his/her blood circulations proper. Proper blood circulation keeps the body warm and ensures that there are no congestions in the entire respiratory tract.
